    Hi all,
    Does anyone know where I can find either a single cover for a 288c the says "Altec Lansing Corporation" (letters are wide)
    OR
    A pair of the "Altec Lansing" narrow lettering covers for my 288c compression drivers?

    Any info greatly appreciated.

    I know someone out there has one of these in their junk box of spare parts. I suppose the problem is getting someone to pack it up and send it?

    I don't know if they're interchangeable, but you can get the new-style rear covers for either large or small format Altec drivers from GPA, and they're very reasonably-priced. It might pay to give Bill a call either way, as he might have some older ones around he'd sell as well.

    As a temporary, just-to-get-them-working option, you might find a plastic soup/salad/cereal bowl of the right dims you can adapt and damp to suit. I've had such an arrangement on the back of an 8" Mac sealed mid for so long I might as well call it permanent....out of sight, out of mind...

    I called Bill and he doesn't have any of the old covers. I have two covers that are functional right now but the one with small Altec lettering is badly damaged and I have used epoxy to piece it back together. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    You might try the Lansing Heritage forum, in the "marketplace" category;

    http://audioheritage.org/vbulletin/

    eBay has a fairly-new WTB category as well.

    Good Luck!
